Zarro Owners Club
After two years have made trips to the Zarroschippers on January 17, 2010, in the inn Easterlittens Arms of Friesland, in the harsh winter weather Zarro Owners Club was formed.
Zarro The Owners Club at Sail 2010
If we go somewhere like Zarroschippers have looked this year, it was the multi-day trip to Amsterdam, to SAIL2010 from close up. According to the schedule would be ten Zarro's sail and another on Wednesday August 18 meeting in Amsterdam. Eventually the seven. Three from southern and central Netherlands, the other four from the North. To get to Amsterdam two days were set aside, and was expecting good, dry summers and again in August.
The first ones were sailed Roel and Leny, in connection with bridges that run from 9 am until the night before they were all to the dangers Sneekermeer. Bernard and Gerda left Tuesday morning with the boat, and arrived on time and Leny Roel alongside a cup of coffee. During the coffee first starts to rain, and then to steadily louder. We sail towards Langweer and have John and Miriam on the phone. Auke Aalie and are also on board and they go on ahead to Echtenerbrug (the first meeting point).
The weather gets worse and the rain and wind are increasing. The trip on the Tjeukemeer is bizarre and cruel. In Echtenerbrug we connect with John and Miriam, and the Auke Aalie on board. The covers closed, and into the dinghy for the hatch to see something. Gerda is just the mopping. Linthorst Homan in the lock, everyone sat and we ashore for a hot cup of coffee, something to eat and for consultation. We decide to proceed at least until Vollenhove to come. Meanwhile Report Freek and Gisela themselves with the question: "Where are you?". We talk and throw a mile. If we pay more black they come towards us waving. We decide to proceed to go and take Ketelhaven contact the harbor master. He has given us, and reserve the cooking and the restaurant for 10 persons. It was dark when we arrive and something warm to drink and increasing.
The next morning, Wednesday, August 18, we are ready to eight hours at the lock for locking the Hoge Vaart, and ... it starts to rain. It's wet and cold and Gerda gets so by now a goatee for the mopping. The mood is under pressure from the bad weather. We call Bart-Jan to ask for the Buienradar look. Just above the spot in the polder where we sail is a blue spot with a red heart! We call Ivan to see how the weather in Amsterdam, where it falls. Only near Almere it stops raining and it is actually dry. If John and Bernard are in the lock will be discussed what the next step will be. Together they sail on a classic ship and return-on-head neck back because waves of 1.10 meters run. Windfinder makes us all happy ... morning wave heights of 1.20 m! We decide to stay in Almere Haven.
On Thursday, August 19, the beautiful weather, but the wind has 5/6Bft, and the wave heights are such that sailing is not fun and irresponsible. Bart-Jan, Bjorn and Clemens with the car to Almere Haven, and from there the club will take the train to Amsterdam. Theo and Gina, Fred and Renske, and Ivan and Hedwig in Amsterdam on the water, admiring the rest Sail2010 from the quay. In the evening there is an extensive and pleasant meal at the Greek, and we say goodbye to the rest by telephone. We are preparing on Friday to sail back north, and decide to make three days instead of two to go.
Friday we go and sail on the lakes. The first stop is Elburg, a great town with a nice port (and fun Zodiac boats) and many pleasant reaturantjes. There is a wonderful story about the construction of a steel trap, but it's good to take while enjoying a drink to tell. Saturday we sail again with the Weerribben purpose. Unfortunately, after one day weather it is again enough was enough and it begins to seem that we get rain. We will contact John to discuss how far we will go. The simple but obvious answer is John, "Long again, and I have already arranged berths". On the Black Lake run Freek and Gisela go home, we go on to three of Langweer. In Echtenerbrug discuss how we will cross the Tjeukemeer. The water was calmer than on the way, but it is still quite a pounding. In Langweer we eat together at a bistro, tired and satisfied and go into the cage. Bernard and Gerda Sunday morning go home early, and hope for the rain to be. Once home there emails and phone calls with the news that everyone back home safe.
Other trips in 2011
There are boaters who appreciate the Wadden Sea would want to cross. Like the first time, every next time will be dominated by security and safe return. The first trip, we learned that it is not wise to stick to fixed dates. Interested therefore be asked to give up. If the weather (3-5 Day Forecast) is good, you get a phone call Thursday or Friday. The tour will in principle on Saturday (round) and Sundays (back) sail.
The multi-day trip to Sail2010 has raised an important question: "Is there interest in next year with a group planning an overnight trip to do?". Of course there are great trips to make, e.g. a round IJsselmeer, or a trip to Friesland and Groningen. And on request and in consultation of course to other places. We would like to know if there is interest for such an undertaking. Let us know!
For all tours is: it must be dry, and if there is danger at sea or wind up with 3. Further, wind direction and wave heights + crucial.
General
1) thinking to loose money (coins) if we paid an inside route with bridges fly;
2) settling refreshments and meals is easier when everyone is keeping an eye on what was negotiated and the money owed in the jar on the table does;
3) Make as many beautiful, funny, funny pictures during the trips, and send them to the secretariat. Zarro a year a yearbook made the most beautiful pictures.
4) You receive a Zarroschipper and no news, please send your name and email to the secretariat and we will keep you on the mailing list is.
5) Questions?? Send them to the secretariat and we will respond as soon as possible.
Proposals are very welcome.
